Reporting

The primary product is the report set produced after the portfolio is processed. The reports are the means by which a customer posts the general ledger. The major data elements needed for this purpose are:

1) Interest Received and Accrued
2) Amortization/Discount amounts to be applied
3) Fair Market Value Adjustments for the “Available For Sale” Portfolio
4) Unrealized Gain or Loss for “Held To Maturity” Portfolio
5) Realized Gain or Loss for Sold Items

The portfolio manager is also concerned with various yields, interest rate shocks and other items available in the reports.

The ultimate goal is to produce reports that provide the required data in an easily read format. Where possible, the items to be posted to the general ledger, should be contained in a single report and not require that the customer search through several reports for this information. The major reports produced by the AFS software are a result of a joint effort with various customers. A common comment from AFS’s customers supports the ease of obtaining necessary numbers for balancing and posting to the general ledger.
